The Internet is For...
...whatever it's for, you're helping me pay the bill!! And we all know the internet is very important to writers.
Ahem.
For each month we reach this goal, I will write a second flash fiction (300-1000 words) to a prompt from the monthly prompt post.

We're Spreading the Love Around
You're helping me support other artists!
For each month we reach this goal, I'll commission a crowdfunded artist to draw a headshot of a character.
Patrons at the $5 level and above will choose the character, and be invited to help me flesh out everything about the character as well.

You Really, Really Like Me
At this rate, I'll be halfway to my total writing-income goal!
For each month we reach this goal, I will post a second chapter of the patron-chosen serial, which patrons will have early access to.

I write a lot.
I write speculative fiction - high fantasy, dystopia, sci-fi, modern fantasy, universes of what-if and maybe-then stories. I post most of content online, free to read - webserials, one-off stories, flash fiction and ongoing tales. My journal and websites are a stream of short pieces of entertainment.
I write because I like to write; I write because I enjoy sharing my worlds with others. I love that feeling when someone else gets excited about people I made up in my head, with worlds that only exist because I started drawing them out on paper.
Donations not only tell me in a very tangible way that you appreciate my art, but they help me keep my art going! They pay for character portraits, domain names & server space.
And, what's more, they pay for my time. All of these words take a lot of time! And, while it is fun, and while I enjoy putting up my words for public consumption, time is something I, like everyone, have a limited supply of.
While you can always commission a specific piece of work from me - just send me an e-mail, tweet, or PM - this is something of a tip jar and something of a pay-wall. If you like what you've read of my fiction - my serials, my blog-posted short stories, my stories in anthologies - drop a tip in here.
My goal is to reach $100/month - to have Patreon be a reliable source of a base writing income.
