About Alek Boyd

My work aims to shed light on corruption in Venezuela, the scale of which has not been seen in the Western world in the 21st century. To carry out such work, and trace white collar crooks across many jurisdictions, in different languages, access to information is required. Sometimes, especially when it comes to cases that touch developed countries, this can simply be paying a fee to access a database. However, when investigating corruption in Latin America, where databases are scant, non existent, or simply put out of commission, it takes leg work. It takes real people, going to registries and physically checking folders and files. Patreons interested in bespoke, in-depht due diligence reports, can get in touch.

We are very effective at what we do, so much so that many of those exposed through our investigations end up indicted in criminal probes in different jurisdictions. As way of example, an investigation into Alex Saab's corrupt activities published in October 2013 ended up forming the basis for criminal charges presented against Saab by the U.S. Department of Justice. Saab was arrested in Cape Verde and extradited to the U.S. where he is awaiting trial.
