The videos take a lot of hours to put together while juggling the podcast, the writing of the book and the audio drama. If we hit this level it will be worth all of the stress that this additional workload brings.
Additionally I would also then have more of a music budget and would be able to purchase from a wider selection of artists for more frequent professional-level music in New Century.

The School of Movies Podcast: The Digital Drift podcast and its former incarnation Digital Gonzo have been rechristened "School of Movies". This should help cultivate a wider audience and the podcast will remain your weekly dose of super-in-depth and fun movie analysis.
We'll still do shows where we talk about video games, TV and books of course, and we'll release them on the same podcast feed under the name "School of Everything Else".
There is also the prospect of us doing regular videos on YouTube under the School of Movies name. We've put a few out so far so everyone should know what to expect from them. These are extremely labour intensive and take a long time to prepare for, record and edit so we're going to make producing these regularly a milestone goal to work towards as the Patreon gains more supporters.

An ongoing science fiction epic released in weekly chapters telling serialized stories one after the other, which all link together. The beauty of it is that like the Marvel Cinematic Universe which inspired its scope you can start with any of the stories in Phase 1.

The Cartographer's Handbook: Set in 1883 America in a divergent timeline, this is the story of how humanity began to pull itself back from the brink of extinction after a plague that reduces much of the population to a savage, feral state.
Secret Rooms: A road trip that becomes a gothic horror detective mystery with a group of new recruits to the government's scouts sent out to explore and reunify America. This more dramatic story sets the tone for an ever-growing lineup of colourful characters evenly split between male and female.
Tiger's Eye: Meanwhile on another alternate Earth populated by intelligent, evolved jungle cats a human child is found by a female hunter who sets herself the task of a dangerous journey into unknown territory to return the boy to his home.
Arlington: As these events are going on, back in Washingto the pressure is mounting. President Grant's health is giving out and a replacement must be found during the run-up to the first official election in over a decade. Things are going to get nasty and the director of the National Intelligence Agency, along with his family become deeply involved in the political intrigue.
SteamHeart: A possible hope has been found to give America a fighting chance, but it is going to require a determined team to embark on an odyssey across the Eastern states and into darkest Mississippi. Along the way their characters will be tested to the limits with exceptionally difficult choices to be made.
And that's just Phase One. Phase Two, with five more stories will be coming in 2016, and so on.

The Cartographer’s Handbook, is available on Kindle. I also produced it as an audio drama and a video series on YouTube funded by this Patreon. It is available for everyone on YouTube to watch in four episodes.
Secret Rooms completed its final chapter in April 2015, immediately followed by Tiger's Eye, which will be followed by Arligton and so on.
These new productions maintain a focus on character interaction and personal drama as the grand story unfolds and touches more people. More warmth, more comedy, more wonder, more danger, diverse protagonists and language both eloquent and foul.
If you want the best place to start, go with Secret Rooms double episode 1&2 if you want a fun, compelling Western OR Tiger's Eye Episode 1 if you want a jungle adventure.
New Century features many voice actors and with music and equipment to buy all the time it needs to operate on a workable budget; the higher the budget the more creative freedom.
As for myself, as well as funding New Century the more this Patreon brings in, the less freelance work I have to seek out in order to make ends meet and the more awesome podcast content I can devote my working week to.
