About Alexandra Buckle
Hello, and thanks for visiting my Patreon page. My name is Alexandra and I've been a full time printmaker since 2012. I love getting out for walks in the countryside and translating my scenic discoveries into colourful reduction linocuts. Perhaps you are seeing my work for the first
time, in which case, I encourage you to check out my social media channels and
my website to get a fuller picture of my art, perhaps it will inspire you to have a go yourself :) Linocut printmaking is a very beginner friendly printmaking medium and as new art techniques go, it is relatively inexpensive to begin. It is also easy, practical and non toxic to do at home. I began by printing on my dining room table before I had my studio.
Alongside my own creative practise, I have also been teaching linocut printmaking for over ten years, privately as one-to-one tuition and in larger group workshops. In that time I have seen all sorts of people. Some haven't picked up a pencil in 40 years and need encouragement, others are arty already and want to try out a technique that is new to them, and some have plenty of linocutting experience already and want to focus on something specific. As with my workshops, the information on this page will cater for all levels and I'm hoping in time that as I add content to this page it will become a wealth of helpful information and inspiration. I am also hoping that a community of like-minded happy printmakers will develop.
I will mostly be focussing on linocut techniques and reduction lino is my specialty but I do also have experience with other lino techniques and other printmaking methods and will be happy to share what I know about these techniques too. If you have previously attended a workshop with me, you will find that the information here will serve as a recap of what you learned and hopefully will extend the content that we covered on the day so that you can continue to grow your own practise.
I hope you will consider becoming a patron to support me and also I hope that you will benefit too. If you have any questions don't hesitate to get in touch.
