My name is Alex, I'm a writer, researcher, and activist based in Toronto. I do essays, journalism, and cultural criticism, and I've been published in US and Canadian outlets like The Outline, BuzzFeed, Canadaland, Xtra Magazine, Briarpatch, Slate, and others. But of course, the pandemic hit, and shit hit the fan. Now that I finally have enough time to write, publications are closing and writers like me are adrift, in search of ways to distinguish and express themselves in the chaotic waning days of global capitalism.
I wanted to find a way to connect with my community and share my work with people who've supported me at every stage. Hence, this Patreon.
