About Alex Wilcock writes Love and Liberty

I’m a former Liberal Democrat policymaker and always a convinced Liberal, a Doctor Who fan and married to Richard Flowers. It shows.

Almost for as long as I can remember, I’ve been an opinionated so-and-so and loved writing about ideas. I started blogging in 2006 – most prominently Doctor Who reviews and Liberal philosophy – and have always tended more towards the in-depth than the prolific. Both my physical and mental health have been deteriorating for some years, and in 2017 I reached such a state of not coping with anything at all that I decided I just couldn’t write any more. Since then I’ve found that I can’t not write either!

I’m trying to prod myself into writing more and finishing some of the projects I start. If you fund me, I hope to take that as more of a prod into productivity and get into more of a rhythm. If I get more mojo going, I’d aim to set up some tiers based either on my own renewed enthusiasm or on what you tell me you’d like to read more of (but in the light of my impressive record so far, I will make no rash commitments).

That doesn’t sound tremendously impressive to start with, but when I get going I can be quite interesting.

Most of what I write is published at Love and Liberty. Take a look.
