When I decided to homeschool my upper elementary son, I searched and searched for the right plan, the right curriculum, the right stuff to use. But I couldn't find it. Like Goldilocks, I found most things to be too hot or too cold in one philosophy or another (even too religious or too secular, too).

Deeply inspired by the cosmic education piece of Montessori education, but without being able to go through rigorous Montessori training myself before needing to start, I knew I had to come up with some kind of alternative solution. I needed to find a way to tap into what I love about Montessori education without trying (and failing) at replicating a Montessori classroom at home. And so I started something of our own.

I'm calling it Cosmic Homeschooling. We're focusing on the five themes of Montessori elementary education, through a cosmic worldview, and borrowing ideas and tactics from Montessori tradition but in a very eclectic homeschool way.

For the most part, I'm documenting our journey at allaboutthatgrace.com. But I can't just stop with a blog. I want to share resources, ideas, and tips with those who want to do something similar. And, most of all, I want to stir up conversations with those heading down this path too. Join me?
