We all start somewhere and it's usually with a lot of questions! For the price of a coffee a month you get to ask me questions through the ...all but essential travel... facebook community page. I'll answer all your questions and post useful information and resources for the community. You will also receive a quarterly newsletter packed full of resources and advice.

Mount Blanc

per month
In addition to the Snowdon benefits, the Mount Blanc membership includes a personal action plan. We have a chat and then I produce a bespoke action plan to help you achieve your goals. After we've come up with an action plan I'll be keeping you on track with a quarterly check-in via email or phone, whichever way you prefer to communicate.

In addition to the benefits from the Snowdon and Mount Blanc memberships, the Kilimanjaro membership includes emails of when I have observing opportunities. Observation of other outdoor professionals working is useful for trainees in developing their own knowledge and skills. This could be Mountain Leader (ML), Winter Mountain Leader (WML) or Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (MCI) and will mostly be based in Snowdonia, the Peak District, West Coast of Scotland or the Cairngorms. This membership includes a free place on a skills training course. You get to choose whether that is the Mountain Expedition Preparation Course, a Navigation Course, ML Refresher or Expedition Leadership workshop.

About Rebecca Coles

For the past 20 years I've been working in the outdoors and on expeditions in some capacity.  When not working I'm going on my own expeditions.

I've steadily worked my way through outdoor qualifications from the Mountain Leader (ML) to Mountaineering Instructor Certificate (MIC), becoming the 40th woman to gain this award. In parallel with this, I've carved out an expertise in leading remote and challenging expeditions.

Expeditions I have led have ranged from South Georgia, Antarctica to Afghanistan. I continue to build my knowledge and experience through personal trips. I have just returned from cycling solo through Zimbabwe, have organised personal first ascents expeditions on 6000m peaks from Tajikistan to Western Nepal and have travelled overland from Kathmandu back to the UK. My personal expeditions are often on a budget and I rely on raising funds to support them.

I also diversify my work by writing for outdoor media and working as an ambassador for a variety of companies including Cicerone Press, Stance Socks and Fori Bars and am an athlete for Montane.

I love getting emails from people asking for my help to get their own expeditions off the ground or advise on how to start an outdoor career. I've built so much knowledge from working in the outdoor industry, leading expeditions and going on my own adventures that I want to share. The problem is how to do this without it taking all my time so that I have no time to go to work! The reality has been that I have stopped answering all the emails I get or am only able to give the briefest of responses. I hate this, I want to answer all your questions and get to know everyone.

So, I'm trying Patreon as a solution.

I'm hoping that through Patreon I'll be able to offer a quality experience and enable me to dedicate time answering your questions in full as well as opportunities to get out in the hills with you.

Check out the different levels of support I have on offer. Hopefully there is one which suits you and we can get started with planning your next expedition or career....

Thank you so much for reading this, I look forward to hearing from you.
