Thank you all for your support! <3 I am a graduate student in neuroscience, disability studies scholar, artist and Autistic activist. Definitely note the "graduate student" part. My writing usually relates to disability, neurodiversity, queerness, student issues, speculative fiction, or some combination thereof. And it takes work! So, thanks again for helping me in the process of keeping this doable.

As a creative type and as a scholar, I:
  • Write online articles, both on my own blog and on other sites!
  • Write literary work, like poetry and short stories.
  • Review disability-related works by others.
  • Present at workshops and conferences.
  • Create art for Autistic community pages and events.
  • Create cover art for publishers.
  • Create geometric art for other reasons.
  • Read a lot to be prepared for all of the above.
  • Drink a lot of tea while doing all of the above.

Art involves supplies such as fancy paper, good pens, and good markers. This costs money. The creators of the works I'm reading deserve to be compensated for their work just like I do, and plenty of them get that compensation by way of their books costing money. Travel costs money. Tea costs money. Pledges help me cover the expenses related to my work, and maybe even get something for my time.

I know I have writing online at:
Yes, That Too.
GradHacker.
Archive of Our Own (A03).
Disability in Kidlit.
Academia.edu.
Quora.

Some of my writing is translated into Russian, thanks to the hard work of Айман Экфорд(Ayman Eckford). This can be found at:
НЕЙРОРАЗНООБРАЗИЕ В РОССИИ (Neurodiversity in Russia).
Пересечения (Intersections).

I did the cover art for:
Typed Words, Loud Voices.
The Real Experts: Readings for Parents of Autistic Children.
Line art for The US Book: Teaching Languagings to Nonverbal Thinkers.

I have writing in these books:
Criptiques (ebook).
The Queen's Readers: A Collection of Essays on the Words and Worlds of Tamora Pierce.
The Spoon Knife Anthology (v. 1).
The Spoon Knife Anthology (v. 2).
The Real Experts: Readings for Parents of Autistic Children.
Typed Words, Loud Voices.

I react to life. You get to find out how I react to life. I swear there are funnies involved. (Neuroscience classmate says autistic kids look at geometric shapes more than people. I have something to show him...)
Beta Reading
$5 or more per month 2 patrons
Want to see the short fiction, essays, memior, and generally assorted writing I send off to journals and anthologies before they come out? Here they are!

You'll also be listed as a backer on my blog's side-bar and get to see my poetry drafts.

(The text appears in Typed Words, Loud Voices. Which I did the cover art for!)

Coloring pages
$10 or more per month 1 patron
I make geometric designs! Some people like to color them in. If you want access to some of my line art for coloring, this is the tier for you.

You'll also get access to my poetry drafts and submissions for publication.

Books!
$20 or more per month 0 patrons
I'll send you signed physical copies of Autonomous Press books I've got writing in as they come out (as I get them, that is!) And maybe books from other publishers, I'll let you know when I know.

I'll also send you a signed copy of a prior book every three months until you've got them all.

Plus you get access to all the prior tiers.

Non Autonomous Press books I can currently send:

Criptiques

The Queens Readers

Loud Hands

Poetry prompts
$25 or more per month 0 patrons
As long as you're backing me at this level, you can give me a word or phrase as the starting point for a poem each month, and I'll write a poem for it.

You'll also get all the rewards from the previous tiers -- including books!
Goals
$21 of $25 per month
"I read a nonsense" reactions. You all get to choose a generally nonsensical (psuedoscience and/or just really badly wrong) article for me to live blog each month, instead/in addition to the ones I choose and read myself whenever the heck I feel like it.
