Ander Nesser is creating fiction

If you ask various people what they want from a fictional story, you are likely to receive wildly different answers. Some would say they want the story merely to entertain; others would say the story should advocate social change to have literary value. In my stories, I'll definitely not do the latter; I'd like to do the former at least, plus a little more.

The most important foundation to my stories is entertainment value; this is necessary but not sufficient. There is also philosophical argumentation in the subtext (occasionally overt), which readers are free to consider or to dismiss. Currently, I find science-fiction to be the genre most capable of exploring these ideas, though I may spread into other forms of fiction as well, such as fantasy.

What you will not find in my writing is another Star Trek / Star Wars clone. While these are fine franchises, there are thousands of imitations already. I am influenced by many fiction authors, but I consider my most important influences to be non-fiction. I actively read works of philosophy and science, and I think about the ideas contained therein. I do not write for the sake of putting words to a page; I write to communicate ideas.

We can build a community of like-minded people here on Patreon. My first novel and several of my early short stories are available for free. But I'm just getting started. If you appreciate the time and effort necessary to create these works of fiction, then I would greatly appreciate support from readers like you. Thank you.
Tiers
Terrestrial
$1 or more per month
The first tier. Just one dollar gets your name on the thank you page at the end of my story. Plus, of course you get an e-book version of the story as a PDF and other popular formats. Typically I'll be writing novellas, with perhaps the occasional novel.
Superterrestrial
$2 or more per month
The second tier. You get what is in the first tier plus a little extra material not included in the story. Typically these are notes that I used while writing, such as character personality profiles.
Frosty Neptunian
$3 or more per month
The third tier. You get everything in the lower tiers, plus JPGs of pencil & paper sketches I made when writing the story. These may include locations, tech, vehicles and other designs (but not characters). I'm not a great artist, but hopefully you'll find these visually developed ideas interesting.
Hot Jovian
$4 or more per month
The highest tier. You get everything in the lower tiers, plus early access to individual short stories. No one else would be able to read these stories until I have written enough for a book-length anthology.
Goals
0 of 1000 patrons
Upon reaching 1,000 patrons, I will write an extra short story which would be available to patrons only.
