<p style="">#AnimalTownConfidential is a #FurryPulp/Mystery web comic featuring Animal Town's Ace Detective Inspector Dog and his friends: Chicky Van Der Buck, TA Dog and Berty Bear. Inspector Dog and his friends solve mysteries, fight crime and occasionally bust ghosts. Animal Town Confidential is for teens and adults. The four main characters are the creations of the late Rev. George Lapoint, who put on a puppet show to amuse his son Justin in June of 1956. Justin was so taken with these characters that he began to create home made comics, over 100 of these between 1956 and 1960, before “putting away childish things” and focusing on high school, college, marriage, seminary, and children. After Justin’s two children were born, John in 1974 and Alice in 1979, Inspector Dog and his friends made a comeback. Justin performed puppet shows for his children using the same puppets George had used and soon began to redo old comics and make new ones. When John was in grade school, he began to add his own stories to the comic. During the 1980’s, Justin copyrighted a couple of comics, and with the computer revolution, distribution became possible. It was in 2007 that John and Justin decided to create Inspector Dog’s adventures as a web comic. John took courses in graphic design and business and Alice helped by inking several pages in “Night of the Killer Klones,” the first Inspector Dog comic to go on-line. Sarah Madigan, a graphic arts student at James Sprunt Community College, helped teach Justin and John the Adobe Graphic Design Suite, and Neal Haggard designed the Animal Town Confidential logo. While #AnimalTownConfidential will always be free on the Duck and Facebook, we are using Patreon to raise money for art supplies, computer maintenance and promoting the comic at conventions.
