Hi everyone! Thanks so much for checking out my Patreon page and considering supporting me.

I haven't always played games, but once I started to, I was hooked. Once I started learning how games are made, I was amazed. But once I found out that some people don't think all games and gamers are equal, I was angry and sad.

You've probably heard people say that mobile games aren't "real games" or that casual gamers aren't "real gamers." Well, I beg to differ. There are so many fantastic games on mobile, it's hard to know where to begin. And mobile gamers are just as much gamers as someone who plays games on their console or computer (look, we even have t-shirts to prove it ;-)) But when I looked around, I didn't see anyone talking about these games with the same weight and attention as others. I also didn't see a lot of women talking about games period. After all, 52% of gamers are women, but we still think of the hobby as the sole province of teenage boys at best and immature men in their mothers' basements at worst. Disappointed in these glaring omissions, me and my awesome friend Jessica Dennis decided to do something about it.

This is how Unconsoleable was born and eventually picked up by ESN. We've been at it since since September, 2014 and it has already been an incredible ride. A journalist in a very recent former life, I've also started to write about games a bit and hope to do much more.

This is where you come in!

To continue to justify the time I spend on Unconsoleable and to write further about mobile games and gaming culture, and to travel to conferences, I really need your help. Podcasting is only lucrative if you're hugely popular and have a large audience, large enough to attract sponsors who pay for ads. And writing, well... everything you've heard is true. Every penny you give will go directly to pay for games I review, to supplement the meager per piece compensation writers receive, and for the time I put in to helping make what I hope you think is an awesome episode of Unconsoleable every week. I will also use the money for travel expenses to travel to industry events such as GDC, IndieCade and many more. This will directly impact the quality of our show and it will also benefit diverse voices in gaming. To that end, I appeared on a panel at GX3 and aim to do the same at other events.

Thank you in advance for your help and I'll see you around the Internet :)
