I write fantasy stories--short stories (ranging in genre, but usually medieval and young adult) with a wide range of morals to them about the human condition. I also like to draw when I think I can. My sketches and coloring projects often end up here.
Pledging for me is like eating your favorite unhealthy food--you know you shouldn't, but you do it anyway because you like it. That's what pledging for me will be like. I'm doing this for myself, and showing my work to anyone that wants to see it. Otherwise, I'm not encouraging you to do anything rash.
I suppose, though I'm here on Patreon because I'm an advocate for the Basic Income movement. Basic Income, if you haven't heard, is a movement for an unconditional financial safety net. There's a lot of different schemes being discussed on Reddit about how best to implement it, and I participate in those discussions when I feel my input helps.
So, I'm a supporter of Scott Santens. I took his BIG Patreon Creator Pledge, which uses the Creative Commons concept of Share Alike. This makes me promise that every patron dollar pledged above $1,111 per month ($1000/month with Patreon's 10% fee) will be pledged to other BIG Patreon Creator Pledgers here on Patreon. Anyone currently creating content in hopes of making a basic income for themselves is welcome to take the pledge (by contacting Scott), and limit their own final goals to $1,111/mo. By spreading the combined excess to others under the BIG pledge, we hope to homogenize our earnings and demonstrate the true practicality behind the Basic Income movement.
