For 5+ years, Apex Magazine (Apex Magazine) has brought online readers a monthly dose of science fiction, fantasy, horror, and genre-blending stories and poems. Each issue includes original stories and reprints, along with interviews and nonfiction. We are a three time Hugo Award nominee and our stories have received multiple Hugo and Nebula Award nominations. Our mandate has always been to bring you, the reader, works full of marrow and passion, and stories where secret places and dreams are put on display.

While we make the stories and essays available to read for free online at our website, this level of storytelling, analysis, and artistry does not come cheaply. We don’t expect you to care about the nitty-gritty business of running a magazine or all the costs, even beyond paying pro rates for the words you read each month (like bandwidth, ebook design, pasturing for the free-range badgers who maul the slush pile into submission). Your job is to read; our job is to keep bringing you the best reading material. The bottom line is that, so far, advertising and subscriptions for e-readers have allowed us to make Apex into a publication that SF fans have seen fit to nominate for a Hugo Award for the last two years. With the help of patrons, we can make Apex Magazine even more of a genre powerhouse.

Expansion plans for Apex Magazine:
*The addition of more original fiction.
*Adding a second story to our monthly podcast.
*Add a second reprint to each issue.
*More artwork
