Born and raised in a small town in Western Pennsylvania, and having found comfort in his own company, a young Arjay Murray yearned for the adventures, wonder, and fright to be found in tales of fantasy, darkness, horror, and the strange.
Through years of submersion in written stories, films, music, and art, he discovered his fill had not been had, and the monsters he sought could not be found in what already existed.
Inspired by the works of literary legends Edgar Allan Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, Robert W. Chambers, and Neil Gaiman, of artistic geniuses Zdzislaw Beksinski, Chris Mars, and H.R. Giger, and of dark ambient masters Lustmord, Vestigial, and Sephiroth, Arjay began creating his pantheon of anti-gods, the creatures that crawl and dwell within and emerge from canvas, paper, and music.
Arjay has since had paintings featured on the walls of The Keynote Cafe, an art gallery and performance center in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, and has written and published the strange dark fantasy adventure, Lufer-Ma'ar and the Otherworld. Additionally, Arjay has written, produced, and released the dark ambient album, Alive in the Crematory by Apex Infernal, of which an exclusive version was created as a digital gift for the backers of Bloodlines & Black Magic, a table-top role-playing game created by Storm Bunny Studios. Halloween 2017 will see the release of the short stories Cornelia, available in Bon Appetit: Stories and Recipes for Human Consumption, and The Puppeteer, available in The Ladies and Gentlemen of Horror Anthology.
