My name is David J. Murphy and I, along with my co-host Zach D. Roberts, create a weekly podcast devoted to the discussion of visual journalism. Each week we break down news, topics and gear related to photojournalism and documentary filmmaking with 1-3 additional panelists from the profession. We've had many notable figures on our show who represent the career field and news related to our field to include Eros Hoagland, Stacy Pearsall, Rick Friedman and Mark Schierbecker among others. Each week we try to have someone new. With your support we hope to be able to devote time to not only creating more shows, but also helping to make aroundthelens.com an educational and information hub for all things visual journalism related. Thanks for your support.

You get to suggest a topic! That's right, you'll get the opportunity to suggest a topic for a show during the month that you contribute $5. Please keep in mind that any topic suggested should relate to visual journalism in some way and shouldn't be a duplicate of a previously discussed topic, unless there is another take you on it you think we should discuss.

You get to be a panelist! That's right you can appear on the show as a panelist! You mist have at least a web cam, internet connection and be able to use Google Hangouts (it's super easy and we'll help you if necessary). The only thing I ask of you is that you have some background or experience in visual journalism and be able to talk about topics related to visual journalism for about an hour and a half.

You're the show host! That's right, you get to pick the topics, the guest panelists and run the whole shebang!!! Have fun and tell us how it went afterwards.
Goals
$1 of $100 per month
Each week Zach and I sit down with newsmakers and visual journalism professional to discuss news of the week other other topics related to our career field. It takes time and energy to make the show happen on a weekly basis and it'd be great to be compensated for that time monetarily. By earning at least $100 a month it would prove that there are people out there who believe in the show enough to invest in it monetarily and give Zach and I the additional drive and time to make it even better. Some ideas we'd like to use the money towards include a custom intro and outro music, an animated logo, and better live-feed production values.
