There is great code. There is bad code. And then there is complete and utter garbage. The Art of Code will teach you what good code should look like and what bad code should look like. There will be occasional live streaming of how to develop a UWP app from scratch, including design, architecture, and actual coding. You will learn what the universities will not teach you to prepare you for the real world. Aimed at the novice and intermediate developer, we will discuss best practices and patterns that you will see everyday. We will also explore the world of GitHub looking for projects needing TLC. The Art of Code will feature a MST3K-style series where we will explore the B-movie equivalent of code, and with a little restraint, will try to keep the profanities to a minimum while providing hilarious commentary describing what has been done well and poorly. Anecdotes will be sprinkled in providing an insight into the type of code that I have come across in my professional career.
Tiers
Noobs
$1 or more per month
Thank you! Supporters, like athletes, come in all shapes and sizes. Noobs participate by lurking and taking notes, but best of all they learn!
Jockeys
$2 or more per month
Jockeys are the coders who have hit the ground and are ready to join the race. Jockeys can suggest content that is to be created in the future.
Ninjas
$5 or more per month
Ninjas are the coders who have been around the block a few times and can manage on their own. Ninjas can suggest content and get mentioned at the end of videos as a special thank you for your support.
Ubers
$10 or more per month
Ubers are the coders who have been there and done that. They help others learn and people gravitate toward them. Ubers can suggest content and get mentioned at the end of videos as a special thank you for your support. But best of all, they get listed near the top and a bigger display space!
L33T3RZ
$25 or more per month
L33T3RZ are the most awesome gurus around. They create code that people just sit and stare in awe at how totally awesome the code is. L33T3RZ can suggest content and get mentioned at the end of videos as a special thank you for your support. They get listed at the top and a bigger display space than the rest. And they get shout-outs, to boot!
Goals
$0 of $2,500 per month
This goal, while lofty and ambitious, will feature a special Easter Egg in one of my apps that will allow users to view the top tier contributors listed for all to see as a special thanks.
