erik goetze is creating art
My artwork inspired by the indelible fields of textures and colors in nature, the spiritual impact of sacred places, and a lifelong fascination with maps and geography
Milestone Goals
Replace ancient digital canvas (i.e. computer)
My only computer is nine years old and can't even run a lot of today's applications. Its sluggish speed and old architecture limits the practical resolution of the artwork to smaller than today's 4K screens, or what you need to make larger sized prints. Since all my artworks are composed on this machine (either as digital paintings or stitched panoramas), a newer computer would remove a profound bottleneck in my creative process.
Enhanced website
My website needs support: faster hosting, more space for panoramas, and a more immersive gallery. Sharing all these creations on my own site costs a tangible amount every month.
About
I am a designer during the day, and in my spare time I work in the intersection between cartography, artwork, and panoramic photography.
Location
Portland, OR, USA
I love creating things, and have been drawing, designing, making maps and shooting photos since childhood. Over the last decade and a half my foremost passion has been creating a sense of place. I started out doing that with panoramic photography, and now with digital paintings and generative artwork. My best work to date are these twelve paintings on my Tumblr, and these panoramas on VirtualParks. I have a couple modest goals that would enable me to create and share more artworks. Currently I create an average of one new artwork a week. Your support helps me keep my craft going. I would be honored to have you as my patron.
