JOHN DILLON & VIVIAN NESBITT are creators. This Page is a place for Patrons like you to support them in their creative work.

Pandemic Update: We are staying healthy and using this time at home to deepen our creative practices. However, much of the income that keeps our creative engine moving forward has dried up. We’ve had to cancel our entire summer Mother Jones in Heaven tour and many regional performances as well. Now more than ever, your support is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

ART OF THE SONG is a weekly syndicated radio program exploring creativity through the lens of songwriting and music performance. The music and interview show is heard on public and community stations across North America. We interview legendary as well as up-and-coming artists. Past interviews have included Smokey Robinson, Glenn Frey, Gretchen Peters, John Oates, Leon Russell, Judy Collins, Roger Daltrey, Jorma Kaukonen and Joan Osborne.

MOTHER JONES IN HEAVEN, a musical by Si Kahn, is one-woman play with guitar accompaniment about the infamous labor organizer famed for her tireless efforts on behalf of the rights of the working class. Leading the charge for better working conditions and fair pay for coal miners, mill workers and child laborers, Mother Jones was dubbed “The Most Dangerous Woman in America” by a West Virginia judge because, “At the crook of her little finger, she could get 8,000 men to walk out on strike.” Feared, revered and lauded in song and legend, Mother Jones was indeed “the grandmother of all agitators.”

LIFE'S FOR LEARNING: MY MUSICAL MEMOIR. John Dillon has led an interesting life. From being an outsider in elementary school to being the lead guitar player in his high school rock band. From being kicked out of prep school to being celebrated by his peers for bringing the counterculture to their small Pennsylvania town. From soaking in the Woodstock mud to hitchhiking and riding freight trains across the USA, eventually settling in a New Mexico new age spiritual community. From the depths of despair and addiction to a life of spiritual connection and partnership with the love of his life.

For over 50 years, music has been the one constant in John Dillon’s life. Now he combines a selection of original songs with a few covers and connecting anecdotes to tell his life story in Life’s for Learning: My Musical Memoir.

THE BARK AND THE TREE written and performed by Vivian Nesbitt. Alcoholism. Depression. Suicide. Not the family footsteps that Vivian wanted to follow, but when they threatened to be the ones she was destined for... she took action.

"SPARKLES WITH WIT & WISDOM ~ storytelling at its best and most poignant!"
Lynn C. Miller (Voices Made Flesh)

She set sail for Ireland in search of a different legacy. Tracing her lineage back five generations she finds one filled with poetry, song... and loyalty. Colliding with the past, the present and the "Born & Breds," the play bends time and space as she creates a future and a truth all her own.

Discovery and surrender, juxtaposed with the comedy of human nature fill the play with pathos, humor and adventure.
