About

The Art School of the Future offers online art classes for individuals and families. Students must be 13 or older to use Patreon, but parents are welcome to share our lessons with their families. All skill-levels are encouraged to join. Mentorships are available for educators and aspiring professionals.

My name is Rama Hughes.
I am excited to be your art teacher! I am a working illustrator and an award-winning educator. My students and my art program in Los Angeles have received ongoing national recognition by publications including the Washington Post, Scholastic Art, and SchoolArts Magazine. I have been teaching for 20 years, and I have led art workshops for more than 20 schools and organizations including the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the prestigious Art Center, College of Design. I have spent 4 happy years mentoring other art teachers. I currently serve as a contributing editor to SchoolArts and an editorial advisor to Scholastic Art.

Parents often tell me that they wish they could take my art classes. Many ask if I am available to teach their children privately or online. The lessons that you will find here provide that opportunity for aspiring artists, art lovers, families, schools, and educators. Our monthly enrollment options allow you to study art independently or through correspondence and video conferencing. You can adjust, cancel, or resume your enrollment level at any time. Enroll as a Visiting Artist for a peek at the kind of instruction that you can expect.
