Ash is an NYC-based healer and performing artist specializing in the following disciplines: yoga, yoga nidra, work with essential oils and sound healing, kirtan, movement for theatre, playback theatre, writing, writing for healing, song-writing, creating vocal soundscapes, classical voice, jazz, pop/rock, gospel, blues, musical theatre, ballet, theatre dance and interpretive movement.

Her work grows up out of 12-Years of Yoga Practice, study of Buddhism and Hinduism, Meditation and a Lifetime of Work in the Performing Arts; writing and recording music, writing memoirs and poetry, writing, directing and producing theatre, musical theatre and contemporary drama performance, working with theatre arts for healing, teaching yoga, working with natural and organic food, creating natural and organic remedies.

"I've been doing advocacy work around Mental Illness and Eating Disorder since 2014 and began creating community events to have straight-up conversations about the shame and stigmatization of Mental Illness in the US in January of this year (2016.) In March of this year, it hit all too close to home when the person I'd spent months visioning marriage, kids and a future with, after struggling with depression and "generalized anxiety" (whatever the hell that is), committed suicide.

It became incredibly clear, incredibly quickly, that my music isn't going to sing itself, my words aren't going to write themselves, my visions aren't going to convert themselves into real-time images, sounds, experiences and movements. All of this is on me to birth. And whatever of it I "don't get around to" will go with me to my grave and no one else.

My commitment is to impact the conversation on the planet about "Mental Illness" (whatever the hell THAT is) through music, movement, community, conversation and to revive humanity's relationship to holistic ways of healing AND of LIVING.

That looks like SO many things. I'm composing a book of authentic shares around my journey through addiction, eating disorder, vagabonding around the country on a bicycle with my boyfriend and losing another boyfriend ("the one") to suicide, ultimately bringing a ten-year long string of self-sabotage and denial to a screeching halt. I'm composing an album of music; about half of which I created in my late teens and early twenties, magically wishing that it would someday turn itself into useable/danceable music, the other half of which was written either just BEFORE Shambho's passing or just AFTER and has a rich and authentic emotional nature to it. Collaborating with an artist on sweet and honest folk music and collaborating with an Isreali artist to creative thoughtful and stirring EDM music with a global reach. I'm working with a powerful team of imaginative and committed people to create a documentary looking deeply into the efficacy of Western talk-therapy and medication to address Mentall Illness and sharing up out of the enormous body of holistic methods of healing available to us that rarely receive funding or air-time. I am generating healing workshops that incorporate yoga, interpretive movement, yoga nidra and other deep relaxation techniques, body work and music, music music, working with a playback theatre troupe and other powerful collaborators to revivify the use of music, dance and theatre for healing and self-reflection.

I'm doing it all; everything that's on my heart to do. I invite you to support these endeavors, all of which touch people on a daily basis. And I promise to share as much content with you as I can find the time to generate.

With Love,
