Welcome to Atomic Game Theory!
I’m your host Richard, and I’ve been teaching kids about math and science for the last ten years. One night after a particularly rough set of classes, I decided to reimagine how I taught. I realized that I could use games to teach the complicated concepts of game theory in a simple and meaningful way. Then all my friends got jealous because they wanted to learn how to win at games too, and I came up with Atomic Game Theory as a way to bring my classes to the world.
I want to create content in all kinds of forms. Videos allow me to delve deep into a single topic as if I'm teaching a class, but blog entries give me the freedom to be spontaneous and write something about my recent experiences or topics that just don't fit in an easy five minutes. Will we move into an audio podcast form? Who knows!
Atomic Game Theory is a new experience for me and while I can generate the ideas and analysis, I need your help to make AGT real. Your support would help me pay for video and graphic production, purchase new equipment, and have the opportunity to give math-filled presentations at conventions across the country.
How can I help?
Pick your favorite pledge level! I’ll never make Atomic Game Theory a patron-only experience, but patrons at the Diploma level and above will get access to The List! My potential topics will be available for comments and questions, and some of these may make their way into the episodes. And of course, the most helpful thing you can do is to keep reading and watching and spread the word to your friends!
What's the plan?
While I plan to continue writing blog entries at a regular pace, I also want to jump back into videos and video production. As such, I want my pledge levels to reflect your support of the entire Atomic Game Theory project. By accepting monthly pledges, I hope to build an engaged community of lifelong learners, and not just customers paying for a service.
You may have noticed that my first funding goal is for Atomic Hangouts. This is a monthly online chat where every backer at the Post-Graduate level and above will be invited to discuss the latest in games, theories, strategies, and anything else that might come up! This is your chance to participate and become part of this community.
Atomic Game Theory is a labor of love that I create outside of my day job as a teacher. Beyond just meaning the world to me, your support allows me the freedom to create educational content that shows people how to build strategies and win at our favorite games. Please keep watching and learning!
