About Kevin A

About us

My name is Kevin, and I am the founder of Arizona Backcountry Explorers. I am an adventurer, writer, and photographer with a passion for 4x4 and outdoor adventure. My son and I travel the western United States in our Jeep camping and searching for our next incredible journey into the wilderness. We are blessed to visit the most beautiful places in Western America. From the borderlands south of Tuscon, Arizona, to the glacier mountains of Northern Montana, we send our followers on a journey they will never forget.

I am a constitutional conservative who believes in the western way of life. I am blessed to write for 4Low Magazine, and some of my Op-Eds can be found in the Western Journal. I have spent the past 5 years writing about the challenges we face with the radical policy in America, in particular, our public lands. I feel it's a critical issue that, if ignored, will lead to motorized access closures all over America.

What we do

We take on multi-day adventures across the most unforgiving terrain in western America. These adventures require us to live self-reliant along the trail. We frequently travel 300 miles or more in a weekend and make gods gift our home for extended periods of time. Our strategically planned adventures allow us to bring you some incredible content.

We give a whole new meaning to "follow us". Our followers can download our GPS tracks from our website, follow our route, and see what we see. For the past three years, we have built strong support from folks around the US. Throughout this wonderful journey, we have met some of the kindest, caring, and awesome people who enjoy the adventure as much as we do.

For the past three years, Arizona Backcountry Explorers has provided detailed information for the offroad community. Aside from sharing our adventures, I frequently publish information to engage our community in policy issues that restrict or threaten motorized access. Our website has been responsible for passing information over 250,000 times and is accepted as a credible source of information from Arizona State University. Over 2,600 different websites link to various informational writings that target subjects of confusion and unknown policy decisions. Our website has generated over 15,000 comments on policy issues such as travel management planning. Although most were not accepted, we have given federal land managers a run for their money.

Our goal with Patreon

I recognize the need to do more. In order to do that I need to take AZBCE to the next level. So far, this has all been a volunteer effort. I have worked very hard to build this unique community of dedicated supporters. Supporting me through Patreon will help me do more for our community and turn this into a day job. If I could focus on that task ahead, we would be able to make a more significant impact.

Our intentions

We intend to turn Arizona Backcountry Explorers into a media company. I've started this new journey to help me focus on what I love to do, write. I'm hopeful that we have gained enough support from our community that you will help us take AZBCE to the next level. Our Patreon page intends to create a steady source of income for various reasons. We intend to put a lot back into AZBCE.

We intend to

  • Create a social media site with an app for our community.
  • Hire help with the website and servers to run that site.
  • Run ads in magazines, newspapers, billboards, and social media.
  • Travel to attend meetings and engage in land management issues.
  • Support pro-motorized access organizations that help keep our roads open and land clean.
  • Adopt and maintain our backroads and take on restoration projects.
  • Organize trash cleanups, raffles and giveaways, and several other things that will support our community.
  • Claim and maintain small gold mining claims to become established stakeholders and preserve motorized access.

3% complete
The initial step

When we reach $1,000 a month, I will start to pay for advertising. This is a fundamental step toward giving AZBCE a boost to meet my next goal.
