About B4 The Other Creations

B4 The Other Creations
In its inaugural season, B4 The Other Creations is reaching communities all over the world with it’s in demand methods for out of the box thinking. Pushing the bounds of experience and language exploration for artists and educators. Offering applied theatre for social change, play exploration, devised theatrical productions, educational outreach, community building, and leadership mentoring through the lens of generosity, effort, risk, and vulnerability. On our way to becoming a 501c3 Non Profit and rippling into the world.

B4 is rooted in the Berkshires of Massachusetts and we honor the ancestral land of the Mohawk, Wampanoag, Pocumtuck and Mohican land that we reside on. B4 travels across the United States, Europe, and Asia for educational residencies, professional development, and original performances. In 2019 B4 traveled to Indonesia, Taiwan, London, Massachusetts, Houston TX, Austin TX, Dallas TX, Miami FL, Tampa FL, Coral Springs FL, Vermont, Oklahoma City, Rhode Island, Baltimore and Utah to teach, create and perform. Please refer to Our Workshop Offerings to see what programming content you can bring to your community!

Applied Theatre for Social Change Through PLAY!

B4 specializes in rebuilding at risk communities through play exploration, art education, and mindfulness. We facilitate an honest, accepting, and daring space to explore the duality of self in order to gain a deeper awareness of what is best serving you. How to expand into situations of the unknown and frame the experience in non judgement and curiosity. B4 uses language reframing, written reflection, physical theatre, vulnerability exercises, somatic movement, breathing techniques, and play to reinforce a personal and communal journey towards a clear horizon.
  • What part of yourself/ your artistic process do you bargain in order for sustainability and belonging?
  • What are the words that make you feel brave enough to leap into the unknown? Trust someone? Or fall back into old patterns?
  • How do you confidently ask (by words and action) for what you are worth?
We have found it extremely beneficial for both co-founders to be witnessed facilitating in partnership because of the vast experience and perspective they can offer participants. After 20 years in the field of education Christopher is a refreshing example of a white CISgender male that openly addresses “white privilege” and “toxic masculinity” within collaboration. While Malia’Kekia is a young, queer, somatic consent facilitator of Native Hawaiian descent. Her experience from her studies in India and trauma resilience leads to compassionate language that balances the exploration of “social location”. Together they self empower and encourage ownership of diversity and inclusion. Understanding that this work transcends language, age, and culture was important in taking steps forward to creating this company and seeing the many paths we can all pave. B4 will continue to evolve in process as we make space in the world to hold this expansive work.

Our Mission: B4 The Other Creations strives to build stronger communities by holding space for the common experience through education and performance. Changing the language to change the story to one of abundance by deep diving into the core values of effort, risk, buoyancy, generosity, and vulnerability. Paving a path of Vibrational Activism in our everyday world.

How many people do you know who willingly step into the unknown with joy and availability?

There is no path that is already carved out for us, we are paving our own.
One foot #B4TheOther.
Mahalo, thank you, for your time and consideration.

$0 of $500 per month
B4 would be over the moon to reach $500 per month.

When this happens B4 will hire a marketing director to reinforce the B4 Mission by establishing "The North Shire Fringe Fest" in the north county of The Berkshires, Massachusetts!
