Everyone is born with either a talent or disposition that drives them towards a specific end in their lives. Some of my friends are doctors, and their contributions to society and humanity at large are quite obvious. Others are engineers (myself included), who apply the sciences to ultimately innovate new ways of living through their designs. Finally, there are those that are creative, who in my opinion, have the hardest lot when embarking on a journey towards adding value to others. Despite being a professional engineer by occupation, I have always been drawn to psychology, philosophy, and the communication of profound ideas through storytelling. An engineer who identifies as a writer of fiction can perhaps be seen as a dichotomy of the highest degree, but regardless, I hope you will all enjoy what it is I have to offer.

Much of my fictional writing is in direct opposition to what I believe is a narrative that looks down upon the traditional hero. These days, you will find that most stories and movies have many characters that all impact a quest in a small way, rather than a central character that pushes the story forward. There is an idea that states how unrealistic it is for one person to make a difference, and with this notion, our media has been leaning towards depicting group victories instead of individual ones.

I personally do not agree with this idea however, because I truly believe that a single person with an important cause, can make the difference. In fact, if you closely examine the history of mankind, it seems to be the only thing that ever has. With this in mind, I decided to write stories where the main character realistically takes control of his own fate, and in doing so, changes the world. I'd like to emphasize that characters such as this must be both believable and relatable, because it is difficult to identify with a superman.

With this said, I had completed two novels; Knights of Harab, and Galahad. Both of these stories are told in first person, giving the reader access to the dramatic inner conflicts that those who make difficult decisions often face. At the time of writing this, I am uncertain of the direction in which I wish to share these novels to the world, because I am deathly afraid of executive meddling. For now, I have them listed on Amazon for a reasonable price, but depending on how this adventure on Patreon goes, this method of distribution may drastically change. My greatest desire is for my stories to inspire people to be more thoughtful about the world, and for them to bravely face their own challenges in life.

Tiers
Kickstart Your Own Novel
$1 or more per month
Each month, I will write and distribute a 1000 word scene to all contributors based off of suggestions provided to me.

Example: "A young boy wakes up one morning, only to realize that nobody in the village knows who he is."

From here, I would write a scene that could form the basis of a future novel. If you have trouble with beginning your novel, you will be free to take inspiration from this writing prompt to start your authoring journey.

Unfortunately, I will need to be selective in which suggestions I entertain due to time constraints, but I assure you that they will all be interesting nonetheless.

My certainty stems from having an amazing family who will be blunt with me should my writing be subpar.

Behind The Scenes
$100 or more per month
You will receive 10,000+ words of unused drafts from one of my books. This will allow you to see deeply into the iterative process of writing a novel. Many lines are reused and retooled repeatedly until the right feeling and emotion is invoked within the reader. You will get to see all of this with either Knights of Harab or Galahad.

It is heavily advised that you read the book belonging to your requested unused drafts before reaching this level of contribution.

How to write a book in 90 days.
$250 or more per month
As the title suggests, I will personally show you how to create a novel in 90 days. This will include setting up your plot summary, organizing your chapters, and most importantly, how to overcome the challenges of looking at a blank page.

This is a limited offer, by merit of me having a limited amount of discretionary time, what with being an engineer and all.

Regardless, I'll guarantee at least 2 hours of personal support via Skype, though it is likely that I will give more than this depending upon my interest in your project.

Please refrain from this tier if you have a hard time coping with procrastination. Nobody likes to have their faults pointed out, but understand that it is procrastination that needs to be dealt with first and foremost for any endeavour to be successful.

Goals
1 of 100 patrons
After reaching 100 patrons, I will increase the number of words for my monthly writing prompt from 1,000 to 1,500.
