About
Nostalgia: (def) a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition
My name is Kevin Larrabee and I love old video games. Growing up video games were a major part of my life. From gaining friends through a common interest in games to using them as a way to escape a difficult time in school with bullies. As far back as I can remember we had video games in our house and ever since then they have been a major part of my life.
Back in my Play is a podcast for nostalgic gamers that want to revisit the memories of their favorite games growing up, as well as discover hidden gems they may have missed. My #1 rule of the podcast is that is has to be fun and positive. If the hosts aren’t having fun, how will the audience? And let’s be real, video games are fun, if you aren’t having fun do something else.
The format of the podcast is focused on three segments:
The history of the game (Release date, development, rereleases, etc.) Our memories and own personal history with the game (Personal stories and memories) Revisiting the game (How did we play it? Impressions. Does it hold up?
Back in my Play began June 9, 2013 with episode 0 covering The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Since then the podcast has evolved into an alternating format of focusing on a game and an interview with someone related to the field of retro gaming.

Back in my Play was started in June 2013 because of my love and nostalgia of retro video games. Since that time over 50 episodes have been produced and the podcast has evolved to also include interviews with developers and special episodes outside the focus of a specific game. Thanks to you, the listener, the podcast has reached a wide audience and has allowed me to attract more guests to the show. Now I am asking for your financial support, to contribute to the continuation and the evolution of Back in my Play.
The contribution is on a per episode basis. You only contribute when a new episode of the podcast is release. This will most likely be four times per month. So, if you contribute $2, that is potentially $8 each month.
With your support Back in my Play and BackinmyPlay.com will not only keep going strong but it will evolve to bring you awesome audio and video content in the realm of retro video games. While doing so it will maintain the excitement and positivity that shapes the podcast today.
My hope is to bring you more great audio and video content from events and onsite locations like New York, Seattle, San Francisco, and Japan. Your support will also bring Back in my Play to more events like PAX and retro game expos to get interviews and do meet ups with the fans.
