Hey, all! I’m Tristan J Tarwater, author of fantasy novels, comics and writer of RPG bits. What do I want to do? I want to keep writing the stories, comics and RPG advice you love!

A little about my work: I've published three novels in my slice-of-life fantasy series, The Valley of Ten Crescents and my crime and comedy comic, Shamsee: A Fistful of Lunars is available to read and purchase online as well. I wrote a weekly gaming column entitled ‘Reality Makes the Best Fantasy’ which is being turned into a series of system neutral game books. I’ve also freelanced for both Onyx Path and Pelgrane Press. You can find a lot of my work free to download, most of it released under Creative Commons. 

I've got so many great stories to tell, comics to write and RPG advice to give and you can help make this happen! Your patronage will help me pay for:

• Editing and proofing. Every good story needs spit and polish to make it shine. 
• Artwork and design. All stories need covers and maybe we can get some cool character illustrations, maps or wallpapers!
• Advertising and marketing. Gotta get the word out!
• Cool extras. Maybe you've always thought a Tavera poster or a Shamsee tote bag would be rad? These things don't have to be just ideas!

Azria is a mage of Miz, trained in the arts of bending reality to her will; yet she’s unsure of so many things. Is her estranged mother the captain of a respectable vessel or a pirate? What do the currents of unrest in her homeland mean for the bureaucracy of wizards and chiefs who wish to rule them? Azria thinks all life’s questions will be answered when her mother whisks her away on her ship, the Hen and Chick but she soon learns life is often as grey as the sea on a cloudy day. A slice of life, sword and sorcery, swashbuckling, serial adventure! 

Hen and Chick will be released in monthly installments, available for for all who pledge $5 and above! If we hit our $250 milestone, each episode will be accompanied by a full color illustration by Mildred Louise, the amazing illustrator/creator of Agents of the Realm!

Patrons who pledge $1 or more will receive Behind Back That Elf Up, a pdf of what I’ve been working on. Each issue may include excerpts from drafts, scans of journal pages, a page of comic script or thumbnails, links to Pinterest and Etsy boards, and notes on ideas and research.  Possible projects you can get in on are:
