About Bahari.Film

"A life without adventure is no life at all. And if you had to ask me what my most beautiful dream is, this would be it. To refurbish an old traditional dhow off the coast of Kenya and sail it from East Africa to India, learning as much about the culture of East African Coastal life and traditional dhow building and sailing, as I can soak up. This is a journey into the unknown… a calling… to find my true North… and leave a legacy of life lessons behind to share with my son Eden Bahari (meaning man of the sea), born last year." Daniel Snyders

At a time on this planet when most of us can only dream of traveling to distant lands, we invite you to come and be a part of the journey that our friend Daniel has been dreaming about for years. We are a passionate team of visual storytellers who have come together to bring Daniel's personal expedition to the world. The adventures of a man in a foreign country, learning a new way of life, a new craft and a new culture, along the path towards sailing this magnificent boat Utamaduni, towards India. A raw and sensitive glimpse into the world of the true artisans of the traditional craftsmanship of dhow building in Kenya, that is all but fading into history.

Your patronage will enable us to continue sharing this odyssey with the world, with a new episode airing every 3 weeks.
