About Bali Rescue Dog Squad

Bali Rescue D❤g Squad is a privately-owned animal welfare organization focused specifically on dogs.

Given the incredible difficulties of opening a successful shelter supported by the government, Bali Rescue Dog Squad is on a mission to open safe houses where dogs rescued and made ready for adoption can reside in safety until they find homes.

Bali Indonesia is a country that shows little to no regard for animal welfare. The amount of dog abandonment, neglect, and abuse is excruciatingly high. The lives lost to the dog meat trade are unspeakable.

In the 6 years Bali Rescue Dog Squad  has been operating, up to 800 lives have been saved. Bali Rescue Dog Squad will continue to achieve holistic rehabilitation of rescued dogs. Education is a priority in hopes of creating a more understanding, compassionate relationship between people and dogs.

Join forces with Bali Rescue Dog Squad today.

My name is Alison Gray, founder of Bali Rescue Dog Squad.

In 2014, I began rescuing, treating, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned and neglected dogs in Bali including those from the dog meat trade and suffering some of the worst cruelty cases.

The other part of what I do is work one-on-one with local individuals in an attempt to educate them about animal welfare.

I traded in a six-figure salary along with the corporate lifestyle to hold paws desperately in need of help. I turned vegan at the start of 2017. Between 2014 until mid-2016, I personally funded all of the rescues. In August of 2016, after doing some calculations, I realized I could no longer fund my own rescues, yet I was still passionate about being a voice for the voiceless.

What was my next step?

I decided to reach out to the compassionate people of the world for help and in April 2017,  opened my first safe house for dogs where I have employed staff. I currently already live in my first safe house which is run and funded soley by me. April's safe house has been named "Barry Samms' Safe House for Dogs" because Barry who is a wonderful patron to Bali Rescue Dog Squad, funded the entire project.

Achievements/Growth

I rehabilitate all the rescues using holistic practices however, as the years have passed, 2020 has seen me specializing more on special needs cases.  My true passion lies with senior dogs (dogs who reach a certain age here & received absolutely no medical attention or normal treatment from their owners usually get turfed out on the streets & have no chance of survival) or 100% street dogs.

The new safe house holds dogs ready for open adoption in Bali (or elsewhere); it also rehabilitates new rescues on completion of quarantine. The safe house is by appointment only, and it is open to anyone wishing to volunteer.

February 2018 I opened a third safe house for puppies & small breed dogs. This safe house runs purely on donations & sponsorships & currently has the highest adoption rate of all the other houses. In this particular house, all the dogs are leash & scooter trained which heightens their chances of adoption.

January 2019 I opened the Paws For Change Senior Dog Safe House. Paws for Change & Bali Rescue Dog Squad partnered to open my dream safe house for the seniors of Bali. This house  runs purely on sponsorships & could be considered to run at a higher cost than the previous mentioned safe houses due to holistic supplements, top quality food, special diet foods etc supplied to our wonderful seniors.

March 2020, which I haven't officially announced across social media as yet, saw me opening my special needs safe house for dogs.  The reason why I haven't made it official as yet is because I'm still finding my way with this. In saying that, since March 2020 - Oct 2020, I have successfully rescued, rehabilitated & rehomed 5 out of 7 special needs rescues. In between I have also rehabilitated new rescues as I now reside in this particular safe house & relocated them to the appropriate safe houses

What do I need from you?

I need your love, support, and monthly donations to keep the current safe houses running and reach my final goal for my dear rescued dogs - a sanctuary -. As I've now reached my final goal with seniors & special needs & have educated myself on how to rehabilitate & care for them, there will be no more safe houses opened.

The dogs and I would love to gain more animal-loving, compassionate patrons such as Barry who believe in my mission... patrons who feel my passion through the struggles I endure every day working in a country that has no regard for animal welfare. Patrons who also see the hope that's possible if we work toward a common goal.

A special message from the dogs and I to everyone who are supporting Bali Rescue Dog Squad: Thank you very much. No lives could have been saved without you standing right there with us. We love and appreciate each and every one of you.

Much Love
Alison & the rescued pack
