Here at Barakah Heritage Farm our mission is as much about reintroducing people to healthy lands, farming and animals as it is about preserving rare heritage livestock breeds and heirloom plants.
Today, as few as 1% of the population has any meaningful contact with farming or farm animals, including horses.
We offer people an opportunity to experience small family sustainable permaculture farming, livestock and horses and hope to perhaps plant the seeds of future involvement, before it is too late to save these historical traditions and breeds.  You can view our full menu of farmstays, classes and tours here.
At the same time, we are offering lifetime homes to several horses and a donkey that came from less-than-fortunate circumstances and are also working to save a critically endangered Arabian horse bloodline.
We love sharing our passion for the land and the animals with others, whether in person or via the net.

About us:  The farm is operated by published horse and goat author (The Energetic Goat, The Healing Of Horses), wellness teacher and student of the horse Carrie Eastman and her husband Khalil, an experienced homesteader and family subsistence farm student, as well as skilled junior farm partners.
Your host for many of our Patreon activities will be Mickey, a trained anthropologist and experienced tour guide and educator.  Mickey is available to host private tours and classes.  Please contact us to set up your custom experience.

Historical information about our goats:  This is our 13th season with goats.  We had built one of the few chemical-free, gmo-free heritage-body-type fainting goat herds in the country.  In September 2021, a tragic barn fire (cause unknown) took our entire herd.  We are currently focusing this Patreon on the process of rebuilding of our preservation project from our old bloodlines donated or purchased back from other breeders, with the exciting addition of very rare Golden Guernsey goats.
