Hi! My name is Mahima Dayal Mathur, and I am an Indian Folk singer and recording artist. I make music videos for my music, and travel with my music which talks about dreams and desires in a dystopian world.

Through this Patreon page, I encourage you to support independent folk music, collaboration between indigenous artists, and creators on a monthly basis. You'll enable me to make music and outreach like this:

Starting Small and Growing

This BawariBasantiMusic funding model is starting small and will scale up as we grow as a community. I occasionally find additional funding from larger organizations (and we welcome those connections from you). But the goal is to make BawariBasantiMusic self-sustaining as its own entity, enabling us to deliver enriching and honest musical content that we find fascinating, travel and preserve Indian folk music and culture, and that we hope is interesting to watch and share.

Remember, BawariBasanti is not corporate. "We" are individual musicians. Friends. A family that started with my love for singing and grew as I kept composing and collaborating. I am personally motivated by my roles as a granddaughter and sister, a musician, a small-business owner. You will see that in the heart and soul of our videos.

What will you get?

If you're someone who thinks of the greater good, or maybe a musician or keen listener yourself, you might think of BawariBasanti as an investment in the next generation, providing worthwhile messages and stories though poetry and music. But for that, we also deliver to you a good viewing experience and Patreon-only perks.

Can I make a one time contribution?

Sure you can. When you sign up, patreon will give you that option. However, it might be even better to figure out how much you can give and join the community at a smaller level each month so that you'll have access to all the behind-the-scenes stuff we're doing while knowing that you're helping support our work. I love having you here after all and enjoy the interaction with all of you.

More About Me

professionally known as Bawari Basanti, I am a Hindustani classical and Folk singer, Recording artist and Songwriter from New Delhi, India.
I started to learn music at the young age of nine, when her grandmother, Late Smt. Lalita Dayal would take classes for classical music in their family home. A culturally rich environment at home provided the foundation for my art and nourished my creative abilities. I later studied Hindustani Music under Jyotika Paust at Sri Ram Bhariya Kala Kendra and then at Prayaag Sangeet Samiti. Then I went to Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music to learn performing arts from Raphaelle Brochet and am currently working on collecting sounds and making experiential music.

My collaborations with notable artists like BoBunFever(Fr), Zion Train(Br), GeneralZooZ(Ind), SeedheMaut(Ind), Akshay Johar(Ind) have all been the perfect stepping stones into the music scene. My collaboration with producer, Mojojojo was nominated for Global Indian Music Academy Awards(GIMA) in 2016 and recent release, Pankh with Hip-Hop act SeedheMaut has been getting an overwhelming response from listeners.

I have just released my EP, Underwater and wish to keep making more such music!
