I have a history of over thirty years writing for the beekeeping press, including publishing monthly newsletters detailing current developments tailored to those actively managing the western honey bee, Apis mellifera. My present activities involve a website, the Apis Information Resource Center, and a monthly newsletter (blog), the Apis Information Resource News (2300 subscribers)dedicated to exploring a wide range of topics of interest to both beginner and advanced beekeepers.

Historically provided at no cost to the beekeeping community, the time has come for readers to actively contribute to the distribution of the above works. The products and other potential creative content that might come out of this effort are best characterized here as a "digest."  Although the content and labor has been free so far, the platform used to publish both the website and blog is not. Hosting and associated fees, security licensing, and routine maintenance to ensure URLs are current are all required. In addition, there may be future expenses if net neutrality is repealed. Some financial assistance is being sourced through advertising on the website, but that is not sufficient. As a consequence, I am creating this digest dedicated to the beekeeping craft.

This activity will allow fans to actively participate in developing a robust communal resource with a minimum investment.  The model here will be a $1.00 per paid posting to begin the activity.  Thus, only one reward tier will be available.  A mixture of both free and paid postings will be featured as this digest develops.  Thanks for considering this appeal, and do let me hear from you about how this unique endeavor might be improved going forward.

Tiers
Honey Bee Larva
$1 or more per creation
At a buck per paid posting, you're the base of this community effort, like a honey bee larva in a colony.   Your reward at this level is contributing to an increased and sustainable readership via regular additions to this digest.  The model here is $1.00 per paidf posting, which will be an in-depth examination of specific apicultural topics that are mentioned in the monthly (blog)  Apis Information Resource News, something that has been distributed under several names for over three decades. Although one paid post per month is considered the base, it is possible that more (both free and paid) might occur up to a maximum of five paid posts per month, depending on circumstances. Your fans and the creator will gratefully thank you for ensuring the future of this beekeeping digest going forward.
Goals
28 of 200 patrons
Two hundred patrons should adequately be able to cover the financial demands of this beekeeping digest.
