Hi! I'm Bryan Castro and I started Better Chess Training to help other players improve their chess by learning how to learn and train more effectively. I started my chess training blog several years ago and it has evolved into creating instructive videos on Youtube as well as writing for other chess publications.

As I continue to create instructive articles and videos, I realized that I wanted to engage with my fellow chess students in a way that was both sustainable and authentic. Creating a team of fellow chess improvers who would help me direct my research and creation efforts through Patreon seemed like a logical and exciting solution.

With this in mind, I hope to make our community a place where you can enhance the value of what you read and watch from me on Better Chess Training. To do this, members will get the following:
  • PGN files of any games and positions presented in my videos (which contain more detailed instructive annotations and analysis than I could include in the videos).
  • Polls and opportunities for feedback and suggestions for future videos and articles.
  • Posts discussing my current thoughts on effective training and study methods.
  • Opportunities to share your chess progress and games for potential inclusion in future videos and articles.
It is my belief that through Better Chess Training, you can improve your chess game and I'm looking forward to being a part of your journey.
