Our names are Lina and Estephanie and we are two Dominican Afro-latinx podcasters.  Bag Ladiez  is a podcast about BAGGAGE: yours, mine, and ours. Through the podcast our goal is to help ourselves and our listeners by pushing ourselves to be vulnerable about the way that the world affects us and our ability to live our truest, most authentic lives. Being vulnerable is radical and necessary to build a more inclusive and better world. We talk about news, politics, a different baggage topic each week, and we crack hella jokes.

As Afro-latinx people, we are erased in the media and people often act like we don’t exist. We use our podcast to elevate and bring awareness to our experiences as Black Latinx womxn. Due to the pervasive Anti-Blackness in our Latinx communities, it can be very hard to embrace our Black identities. We want to challenge ourselves and our communities to know that Black is beautiful and universal.

Estephanie is native New Yorker, storyteller, and  artist . When not writing her comic book, narrating her scary stories or editing audio for her podcast.  Born, raised and currently living in the best city in the world: The Bronx. She is born from parents from the Dominican Republic and was a first-generation college graduate. Her goal is to one day use artwork and stories to bring light to issues and injustice in the world. Cinthia has been featured in several zines and is currently working on a graphic novel. She is currently 

Lina is a Bronx native and one half of the Afro-Latinx duo Bag Ladiez. Born to parents who immigrated from the Dominican Republic she grew up in NYCHA in the Highbridge section of the Bronx. She’s worked on legal issues at the intersection of oppressed identities in the Bronx and education rights in Philadelphia. She’s a first generation college and law school student, the oldest of three daughters, and has been friends with her co-host for over 15 years. She currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she is a second year law student focused on social justice legal work and learning to practice radical vulnerability to dismantle the patriarchy.
