Vivianna Mercado is a young artist whose work is heavily influenced by pop culture, especially the cartoons, video games, and anime of the late 90's-early 2000's. Most of her childhood, to her parent’s dismay, was spent in front of some sort of screen or sketchbook in her tiny house in Dumont, New Jersey. Dreaming up of worlds and characters often colorful and chaotic she captures them using watercolors, acrylic markers, and whatever she can get her paint stained hands on.

Her found-object piece “Growing Pains” was displayed at the annual juried show Profiles of the Future(2016) in the Ben Shahn Galleries at the Ben Shahn Center for the Visual Arts. Her work was also featured in the Winter Paper exhibition in Carthaigh Coffee in Stone Ridge, New York. She has recently completed her BFA with a concentration in illustration at William Paterson University as of spring of 2018, Vivianna hopes to continue her work on several projects that she has lined up including a webcomic and a mini line of clothing.
