As a creative writer, performer, and social commentator I primarily focus on the way history and politics function as an extension of storytelling and vice versa, with occasional forays into personal narrative and thoughts on trying to raise a young son into a functioning, responsible adult.

By pledging your support, you're letting me know that something I've written or said -- whether on a stage or on my blog and social media channels -- has been useful or entertaining to you, and that you'd like me to continue. You'll also be providing me with time, opportunities, and resources to experience and research the work of artists past and present, which I find essential to understanding the patterns of how our stories have been written and told.

With enough support, I'll be investing in the technology needed to launch a new podcast, called "Subversive," which takes a critical deep dive into both noted and lesser known works of politically motivated art from throughout history. I've already laid some groundwork and I hope to start building in the near future!

About Me: As an independent artist and a member of Chicago's acclaimed Neo-Futurists and Lifeline Theatre ensembles, I've written and performed in several works for the stage for nearly two decades. I'm also a regular fixture on the city's "Live Lit" scene delivering original essays at events such as Write Club and The Paper Machete. I'm a contributing scriptwriter for the audio dramas PleasureTown and Unwell, and have appeared in the feature films Unexpected (dir. Kris Swanberg) and Operator (dir. Logan Kibens). Quips and long-form comments on current events have been shared widely via social media, including political analysis for Vox.

Goals
$83 of $600 per month
When I reach $600 per month, I plan to invest in the technology to produce a new podcast project, tentatively titled "Subversive," offering deep-dive critiques into works of politically motivated art and the historical context behind them.
