About Billy Wilson

Hello, thank you for stopping by. Like many people, I enjoy working on projects that I am passionate about. I'm a neuroatypical individual and fitting it has always been difficult for me.

Currently I am posting content related to my cycling adventures, most notably my 2018 and 2019 solo cycling tours around Europe. In total I have cycled just over 10,000 km around Europe photographing its wonderful old architecture and some of the beautiful landscapes. In total I have been to 13 European countries and have taken more than 55,000 photos. I am working hard to share these photos with all of you. The primary place I post my photos to is Flickr. Below I talk about and share some photos from my European cycling tours.

2019 Europe Cycling Adventure Photos

During the summer of 2019 I went on my grandest tour of Europe yet! I started in Edinburgh, Scotland and over the course of 3 months I cycled around Europe 8,816 km through 12 different countries including; the United Kingdom, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Czechia, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, and San Marino. During this I took 47,000 photos. You can find the photos that I have posted from this trip so far here on Flickr. Below are some highlights from the trip.

King's College Chapel, Cambridge, England

North Pennines, England

Pisa Cathedral, Pisa, Italy

Mont Saint-Michel, France

Moselle River, Germany

Ploubezre, Brittany, France

2018 Europe Cycling Adventure Photos
The summer of 2018 I went on my first ever cycling tour. It was also the first time I had travelled by plane and the first time I had ever been overseas. I did it all on my own. I started my adventure in Strasbourg, France and cycled through the region of Alsace, along the Rhine River, Lake Constance (Bodensee), and then through the major cities of Switzerland to Geneva where I flew home. In total I cycled 1,185.83 km and ascended 12,602 m over the course of 16 days. During my adventure I also went through the cities of Colmar, Mulhouse, Basel, Zurich, Konstanz, St. Gallen, Lucerne, Bern, Fribourg, Vevay, and Lausanne.

In total I took more than 8,000 photos, but I still have much work to do to post them online. The photos that I have published online can be found here on Flickr. Below are some highlights from the trip.

Obernai, Alsace, France

Mittelbergheim, Alsace, France

Mercedes-Benz 300SL, Cité de l'Automobile, Mulhouse, Alsace, France

Kapellbrücke, Lucerne, Switzerland

Hosts, Fribourg, Switzerland

Saint-Saphorin, Switzerland

Over the years I have worked on many different kinds of projects. Originally this page was set up for my online variety show that I hosted for 2.5 years. Since then I have done photography, mental health advocacy videos, population data aggregation and analysis, nature videos, Georgian and Victorian architectural design drawings, shared my explorations of Google Street View, talked about my nursing school experiences (1 more year to go!), and most recently shared about my cycling adventures.

Where the Pledges Go

I want to continue doing what I love and have a passion for. Please feel no pressure to support me but every little bit helps. I'm still a student so any amount of money would help. The money will allow me to put more of my time to working on my photos and getting them published online for everyone to see. There is a lot of work that goes into every photo despite their natural appearance. Since most of the photos are architectural in nature, I have to perspective correct them, straighten them, and perform a number of other adjustments before I believe they are good enough to post. I also add information regarding historic sites in the descriptions on Flickr.

You can choose any amount you want, $1 is a lot to me, it all adds up (a steady flow helps me more than a lump sum) as I publish more photos each week. I'll be posting in a "Weekly Content Selection" post on Patreon around Sunday each week telling you about the photos I have published during the prior week with a link to my Flickr to view them. You can cap how much you pledge (as little as $0.01/month), change your pledge, or cancel at any time (cancelling before a month is over means I get none of your pledges for that month). Patreon Payments FAQ | If you prefer, you can also make 1 time donations through Paypal

When you pledge you're also pledging belief in me and what I do, which means a lot to me mentally! I rely on your appreciation and generosity which I'm extremely grateful for!

Flickr and Instagram are the best to keep up with my photography on.
$9 of $200 per Weekly content
Around this point would allow me to be more able to afford better equipment to produce my work. It would even allow me to experiment with other avenues of work.
