What are Biometrics and why should I care?
Biometric data has many shapes and forms, but one common goal; that the information extracted can be applied empirically (1) towards the pursuit of self improvement (2). This is broadly known as DIY Biology or Biohacking.
Biohacking is a growing biotechnological social movement in which individuals, communities, and small organizations, study biology and life science using the same methods as traditional research institutions.
My current pledge is to use funding to facilitate thorough and meaningful self-experiments accompanied by detailed documentary and reporting, evaluations and conclusions and, after publishing the experiment, I will open channels of communication that will allow Patrons to enjoy a one on one Q&A session with me.
I will expand here with an "About me" section soon, which will help you understand my perspective, experiences, and knowledge as well as the more philosophical of details.
1. *empirical empirical (ěm-pēr'ĭ-kəl) adj. Relying on or derived from observation or experiment. Verifiable or provable by means of observation or experiment. Of or being a philosophy of medicine emphasizing practical experience and observation over scientific theory.
2. Personal Growth encompasses activities that improve awareness and identity, develop talents and potential, build human capital and facilitate employability, enhance quality of life and contribute to the realization of dreams and aspirations. Biohacking is often used as an alternative or supplementary approach to modern conventional medicine in the pursuit of resolving pervasive health issues as well as attempting to improve measurable functions of cognition.
