My name is Khalid Birdsong and I draw the webcomic Fried Chicken and Sushi. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in Japan? I'll give you a hint- fun, frustrating and funny! My comic strips are a humorous look at what it's really like living as a foreigner in Japan based on my two years teaching English in Junior High Schools.
The original Fried Chicken and Sushi updated every Tuesday and Thursday for over five years on www.friedchickenandsushi.com and finished at the end of May, 2015. It has now morphed into a strip about an African-American family living in Japan with a crazy, magical raccoon spirit named Tanuki. It runs on my site and is also syndicated on GoComics.com updating every Monday.
Drawing is a true passion so all of my comics will always be free to read online but it would be wonderful to have your patronage so that I can afford to spend more time focusing on them. When you support, you can get access to my Patreon activity stream where you can see sketches for upcoming comics, character designs and illustrations of fantasy and action stuff I love.
You can choose to get Fried Chicken and Sushi comics a day before they post online!
You can also get a high resolution digital copy of my favorite illustration for that month that you can print out at home (or on poster paper at Kinkos) or use it as your desktop background.
Please scroll to the bottom and become a patron today. Thank you!
