About

Welcome to the Black Comics Chat Patreon!

The Black Comics Chat first started out as a Twitter Chat in 2014 before becoming podcast in 2015, featuring interviews and promoting independent creators of color and their work. Since then, we’ve grown into an audio roundtable for black and brown geek fandom, especially how it relates to independent creators, all the while engaging a live streaming audience on Twitter via Youtube (trust us, it makes sense).

We also host bonus Kickstarter episodes (nicknamed The Jumpoff), where we delve into special live projects with their creators, discussing funding, goals, and investigating tips for Kickstarter hopefuls (a huge amount of BCC Kickstarter guests have been fully funded!). We also attend conventions and post special short interviews taken from the floor.

Also, we ramble about totally unrelated things too!

Our social media stats are blowing up on Twitter and Instagram where we routinely post content and hold court. On non-show days, we engage our audience on Twitter with questions and encourage participation during the show. Instagram has become our home for Cosplay of Color photos taken directly from comic conventions that we attend.

The show consists of the Furious Five: Thelonious Legend, Grace Gipson, Marcus Kwame, Leonardo Faierman, and Anthony Otero.

While podcasting is fun, it’s not free, and we do have fees we are looking to cover with your help. Production, web hosting, file storage, and time commitments are all things that are required to maintain the podcast’s integrity, longevity, and quality.

Our number one goal is to become a committed weekly podcast in 2019, but that will require time, support, and resources to provide the best content for you, our audience — please help get us there! Take a look around and select a tier that might best fit your needs and comfortable budget, and be a small part of Black Comics Chat hitting its next growth spurt.

Let’s all be great together,
