A nature-lover and a marine biologist decided to come together to get outside and get in touch with nature. Through our passion, we’re helping to inspire and encourage black women to spend time outdoors, to appreciate nature, and see why we need to protect it. We hope to build up our community and show the world that us ladies of color are a strong and present force in the outdoors. Join us as we hike, climb, run and embrace the challenges that the outdoors has to offer us.

Our five principles:
Representation – We’re here to show the world that not only do black girls and women hike, we also run, climb, swim, and have a thirst for adventure that is too often underrepresented or unacknowledged. We’re beautiful, black women who trek it out in the great outdoors!

Diversity and Inclusion – Though our group was created for black women, we strive to show support for- and stand in unity with- all underrepresented groups. If you’re Asian, Latinx, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, Disabled, or have ever felt left out of the outdoor community, know that we support and respect you! Everyone belongs outside and should have the ability to connect with the outdoors in their own way. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise or judge you for being who you are.

Education and Conservation – We hope to inspire and build a community of people who want to preserve and protect this wonderful planet. Not only do we enjoy being outdoors, we enjoy taking care of it too. We try our best to educate our community about this wonderful earth and why it’s worth protecting.
