I love making animated shorts. For years I've been subsidizing this passion with commercial work, it's always been a difficult balancing act. I'm doing this Patreon to fund an ongoing series of independent animated shorts. I've made over 10 independent films since 2001, I like to use metaphor to visually illustrate personal, social, and political themes. In the next few years I plan to tackle topics like prison, prostitution, and gun violence. My most recent short "Candy Shop" was just completed, it's the follow up to my first foray into Stop Motion animation "Gun Shop" which qualified for submission to the 2020 Oscars. My 2018 short "Pour 585" has won over 12 major international film festival awards, and has been viewed over 15 million times online. For my most recent 4 films, I've teamed up with Kaori Ishida, my producer, and amazing wife! Kaori has launched an unprecedented production schedule that will result in an animated short film every year. Please help me to continue production!
