Bluegrass Jamalong

is creating Bluegrass Fiddle Tune Backing Tracks

About Bluegrass Jamalong

Hi, my name's Matt and I'm the host of Bluegrass Jamalong.

I love jamming along to backing tracks when I’m learning a fiddle tune. But I struggle to find backing tracks I like. That’s because most of them are too short, only give you the backup (rather than giving you the tune to practice rhythm to) and don't feel like a jam.

So I started making my own. I soon realised that if I find them useful, other people might too. So I started releasing them for other people to practice to.

Every week I pick a well known fiddle tune and record and release four tracks:
  1. I play the tune and you play backup
  2. You play the tune and I play backup
  3. We swap between them and jam along
  4. A performance of the whole thing with tune and backup included
It's been great hearing from people who use and love them and it's amazing to think that people all over the world are jamming along.

I've got plans to make things even better, including adding tracks at faster speeds and interviews with top pickers on how they approach fiddle tunes.

Thanks for your interest in Bluegrass Jamalong. If you enjoy the podcast and would like to support it, you've come to the right place!

Thanks so much (and happy picking),
