Back in 2012 Hamish found a surplus Fassmer CLR-C 7.2 davit launched lifeboat off a North Sea oil rig and refurbished it to a live-a-board. The boat came with 61 seats, safety belts and portions of food and water to survive on the sea up to 14 days. Today it is equipped with a kitchen, toilet, bed, a wood burner and lots and lots of tools.

After 4 years fitting out the boat with mostly reclaimed material and exploring the London Canals it is time to go. The boat is designed for "the worst weather and sea conditions" and Hamish & Ana decide to take it across the sea to France to circumnavigate Europe, 8 km/h, on inland waterways. This is the story of how to do it!


This amazing journey will be compiled in a video travel blog. 21 episodes from London to the Black Sea and back via the East. One episode to be released approximately every month:
