Breaking Even
This is the amount I would need to cover the basic costs of Mad Scientist Journal. If I meet this, I will remove the ads from the site.
Bi-weekly Serial
Increase the frequency of serialized fiction to every-other-week.
Weekly Serial
Increasing the frequency of the serial postings to weekly.
Semi-Pro
This is the amount I would need to elevate Mad Scientist Journal to a semi-pro paying zine and compensate us a bit for the extra time required to work on it.
Superior Arting
This would be the amount needed to increase the payment for artists by 50% in addition to paying the semi-pro rates.
Pro-Zine
This would be the amount needed to make Mad Scientist Journal a pro-paying market for writers and compensate us a bit for the extra time involved.

I am a creator with a lot of irons in the fire. Not only do I write, but I also publish myself and others. The funds earned through this Patreon will go to a few different places:
I thank you for your consideration.
- Paying writers and artists that provide content for my ezine, Mad Scientist Journal. Since most of my money and effort goes towards running this zine, this is where most of the money raised will go.
Paying for the work needed for the re-release of my novel,Kensei.(COMPLETED!)- Serialized stories set in the world of Kensei, featuring both the regular protagonist as well as occasional guest stars. This will start out with a monthly short story of about 5,000 words. Higher milestones will allow me to publish stories more frequently.
- Editing and illustration for my sequel to Kensei, which is currently in its editing stage.
- Self-publishing collections of my stories, like Crossing the Streams.
- Eventually publishing my Apocalypse World hack, The Road to Babylon, along with other gaming projects.
- And assorted blogging on my site, www.bolthy.com.
I thank you for your consideration.
