Musician & Vlogger who takes roughly an hour to sort his hair after showering.

Before boyinaband was even a thing, my dream has been to bring people together by making cool stuff.  

I distinctly remember going to see one of my favourite bands live and being amazed at the number of fantastic conversations I had with other fans - initially about our shared obsession, but then all kinds of stuff.   People were excited to be a part of something, and it was absolutely infectious.   

I left the show with my mind buzzing, thinking to myself "That is so frickin' powerful!   I want to make that!" and then my car was broken into so I had to call the police, but that isn't really relevant.

That was the catalyst which really drove me to combine my love of making stuff with my love of building a sense of community, and after years and years of attempts, I created boyinaband and it grew into what it is now - and it really feels like you homeslices are everything I've dreamed of.   

I absolutely love how open-minded and frickin' passionate you are.   You genuinely care about stuff,  and you've got my mind buzzing with excitement again.   But this time, I'm thinking; "What if we could grow this community even more?"


On my birthday this year I made a Survey, and one of the questions was: "Would you support me on Patreon?"   Patreon is a website which allows you to voluntarily give a payment when I make a video to support my work, and to get exclusive rewards in the process.   This is what you said:
I had always held off doing something like Patreon in the past because I didn't want to be pushy, but 20% of you said "Hell Yeah" and 60% said "Maybe" - That's mind-bogglingly supportive. I was expecting something like 5%, but fully 80% of you consider the videos I make worth financially supporting. Christ on a bike.


The reason I asked was because I've struggled for a while with making videos.   There is a lot I suck at, and a 3 minute video frequently will have 2 weeks, sometimes even months of stressing behind the scenes blindly stumbling around trying to make things a high enough quality.   

This is where I need your help.   If you choose to become a Patron, I can use the money to hire people to help me, resulting in:

• Professional music videos
• Top-notch song production
• More frequent releases!

...So more high-quality videos, resulting in a stronger community of awesome people and a considerably happier Dave from Boyinaband.


I always try to show things I feel are important and interesting in the most entertaining way I can.   If you feel what I do is valuable, this is a direct way to support it.   If you can't afford to do so, don't you frickin' dare feel guilty or anything - I would much rather you look after yourself financially first and foremost.   

My videos will still be free to watch, no matter what.


Do I have to pay in US Dollars? Pay in any currency, yo! Patreon is US-based so everything is written in Dollars, but you can use any currency and it will be automatically converted.

Which videos are included? When you pledge to patronise my work, you'll only be giving money when I produce videos I consider high quality - if a video is more casual, I won't include it. I want you to feel like the work you're supporting is valuable.

How many videos will you release a month?  I'm aiming for four high quality videos every month.   You can set a monthly maximum $ amount so you don't have to worry about overpaying if I make more than that!
