Blush Response. 2017. Acrylic on paper.

I am a freelance artist and illustrator currently working in the Washington D.C. area. My work deals with the anxiety of being in a body. Through the use of body horror, my drawings and paintings seek to create an empathetic connection with the viewer. I received my Master of Fine Arts from University of South Florida in 2017, and my Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Central Florida in 2013. You can find more examples of my work at my website or on instagram at brandon_geurts.

At this point in my artistic career, I'm looking to expand the scope of my practice and embark on new projects that require more time (and funds) than I've grown accustomed to spending. Having some sort of system like Patreon in place is immensely important to artists like myself because it allows us the freedom to explore avenues of working outside of the commercial gallery system. It allows us to push further than we would making purely "sellable" work. In return, I want to offer direct and tangible rewards to fans of my body of work who wish to support it's continuation.

With this Patreon, I want to give my backers a peek behind the curtain of how I work, as well as offer exclusive physical deliverables such as zines and prints.

$1 of $150 per month
I hope to purchase screenprinting equipment at this stage. When I hit $150 per month, I'll begin to offer screenprinted drawings as a quarterly backer reward. As well, I will begin screenprinting the covers to the zines.
