Brenna Lakeson is a queer feminist pastor and social activist living in Atlanta, GA. Born and raised in North Carolina, she has a BA in Music from Elon University, with minors in Spanish and Latin American studies. She has an MDiv from Candler School of Theology at Emory University with particular interests in feminist theology, Hebrew Bible, and apocalyptic literature. She is provisonally commissioned as a United Methodist pastor by the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Brenna currently works at Central Outreach and Advocacy Center, serving people experiencing homelessness in downtown Atlanta. She works on a volunteer basis with Georgians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty to help abolish the death penalty in Georgia. Outside of her social justice work, Brenna enjoys running, yoga, and petting her two cats, Seffie and Beyoncé.

Brenna’s writing strives to hold the stories of the marginalized in the light, create meaning from her own experiences, and heal the things that hurt. You can read some of her recent pieces in the literary magazine, Lifevest, here. She was recently published in the Georgia Emerging Writers nonfiction anthology, which can be purchased here. Her newest endeavor, unguarded, serves to relinquish perfectionism, witness the messiness of living, and tell her full truths.

Simple yet crucial.  It might not be complicated, but what would we be without it?  Supporters at the Shel Silverstein level will have access to more pieces of writing, available on Patreon, as well as access to some REALLY BAD POETRY written by high school Brenna who thought she was artsy.
Robert Frost

Classic and timeless.  A real building block to making more things happen.  Supporters at the Robert Frost level will receive a poem in their inbox monthly, in addition to the benefits of the Shel Silverstein level.
Emily Dickinson

Solid in any repetoire, yet complex.  A little more flashy than her predecessors but still a classic.  Supporters at the Emily Dickinson level will receive access to videos offering insight into my writing process, including a live writing session, several times per year, in addition to the benefits of the Robert Frost level.
e.e. cummings

Overwhelming and groundbreaking.  Literally unlike anything before.  Supporters at the e.e. cummings level will receive a personally commissioned poem on a topic of their choice, in addition to the benefits of the Emily Dickinson level.

What is even happening here?  I'll literally give you anything you want if you support me at this level, in addition to the benefits of the e.e. cummings level.
