I am the author of The Brass GiantThe Mechanical Theater, and The Guild Conspiracy, the first three books in the Chroniker City series. I have two more books planned in the series: Rebel Engineer and The Chroniker Legacy, which I will eventually be self-publishing.

Other projects I'm working on: a fairy-tale retelling of The Little Mermaid and The Beauty and the Beast, imaginatively titled The Mermaid and the Beast, a Persian/South Asian inspired archaeological fantasy titled Written in the Sand and Stars, and a few other fantasy projects that haven't made it to draft yet.

Primarily, I want to build a community of readers and writers who like what I do and want me to keep doing it, but the end goal is to write and publish more books.

In the short-term, my first goal is to raise enough funds to self-publish the rest of my steampunk series. If I want the rest of the series to be on par with the previously traditionally published novels (and I do), then I will need to purchase ISBNs, editing, cover design, formatting, marketing, materials, paperback copies, etc. If I cannot pay for those things, then the books won't get published. Simple as that.

In the long-term, being a published author comes with a lot of unexpected expenses. Most conventions, signings, presentations, school visits, panels, and library events do not offer any monetary compensation for authors early in their careers, but these events are paramount to meeting new readers and building a strong readership. Travel expenses, promotional materials, educational materials, table space, and purchasing paperbacks to sell currently all come out of my pocket.

For the writing itself, there's paper and ink to buy for my printer, pens, pencils, notebooks, highlighters, writing books, index cards, and other supplies that actually help me to write. I'm going to need a new printer soon, and I have a bad habit of destroying keyboards every year or so. Over time, these expenses add up.

That's where Patreon comes in.

With your support, I will be able to write,  edit, and publish the next two books in the Chroniker City series, attend more conventions and author events each year, and produce more content for you, the people who made it possible!

As a patron, you can pledge as little as $1 toward my writing each month and receive early access to excerpts from my works-in-progress, or you can pledge as much as $20 (or more), get signed copies of my books, and read my works-in-progress from beginning to end before anyone else!

If you're looking for something in between, you can have early access to behind-the-scenes material, access to a private Writing Q&A discussion for patrons only, and monthly videos of my writing/editing process.

And as I gain more pledges, I may add further reward tiers for patrons to choose from, and for every milestone we reach, I will hold a giveaway of my books, exclusive to patrons!

Thank you!
