About Bruce Gerencser

I was an Evangelical pastor for twenty-five years, pastoring churches in Ohio, Texas, and Michigan. I was saved as a fifteen-year-old boy and surrendered to preach a short time later. In the 1970s, I attended Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Michigan.

I preached my first Christian sermon at age fifteen, and delivered my last sermon in 2005. All told, I was a preacher of the gospel for thirty-three years.

After leaving the ministry, I began a reexamination of Christianity and its central teachings. In 2008, I left Christianity and I am now an atheist and humanist.

I am physically disabled. While fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis continue to ravage my body, I remain focused on my family, writing, and part-time photography business. I do what I can. I appreciate your continued support of my work.

Readers of The Life and Times of Bruce Gerencser will find daily articles on American religion, Evangelicalism, right-wing politics, and liberal politics. I also post daily articles on my Facebook page.

If you would like to talk to me about the work I do, you can contact me here.
